A Brief History of MOD

MOD was formed in September 2006. The club grew out of a need to offer moms in our community the opportunity to build great friendships, feel connected with one another, and have fun. We are making history RIGHT NOW, as we continue to build the club and tailor it to member needs.

MOD strives to be a civic-minded group that is interested in working with other Duvall groups and the local City of Duvall. Participation in City events and service projects strengthens our club and our community.

Events that we participated in during the 2006-07 year include:

• Distributing balloons to local businesses participating in the Halloween trick-or-treat event
• Sponsoring holiday meals through the local food bank to support families in need
• Baking over 50 dozen cookies for the city's Tree Lighting Ceremony
• Hosting a pre-school fair for the community in January
• Collecting school supplies for local schools
• Holding a fall/winter consignment sale to benefit the SnoValley chapter of Hopelink and support their literacy initiatives

MOD was honored to receive the 2007 Volunteer Organization of the Year award from the City of Duvall as a result of our outstanding member participation in these and other events last year. We hope to continue along these same lines in the years to come for the benefit of the town that we love!
